Practice Update + Meet Availability Due By Friday, 5pm
We have loved seeing all our crazy Mustangs! A few quick updates for this week:
Practice Locations
Thursday - BVSW, same times
Friday - Mills Farm, regular practice schedule + pancake breakfast for swimmers
Friday practice at Mills Farm will be chilly (in the 50s/60s) but we have the pool heater turned up and kids will stay in the pool -- no in & out. Please send extra towels, sweatshirts, even a winter coat so they can enjoy pancakes after! (Wet kids are COLD kids!)
Meet Availability & Preferences Due by Friday, 5pm
Please indicate your swimmer(s) availability and preferences for our first meet on Wednesday, June 8. Even if you are not swimming, it's important that we know! (You can actually mark availability for all meets if you want to save time!)
You can indicate which events your kiddos would like to swim. Coaches will take these preferences into account when assigning events, but cannot guarantee all preferences. You don't have to enter any preferences -- coaches are happy to assign events they think are best for your kids!
Please also indicate if you are coming late/leaving early. This is very important information for when we put relay teams together. It puts everyone in a bind if you are not present to swim your relay.
If you we do not have your meet availability by Friday at 5pm, your swimmer(s) will not be assigned any events for the meet.
The meet is scheduled to be at Mills Farm, but if temps are too cool we may move to an indoor location. Meets are especially hard for kids when it's cold, since they are in and out of the water so much.
Volunteer Sign-Ups Open Sunday, 8pm
Volunteer sign-ups for next Wednesday's meet will open Sunday at 8pm on our website. We do have a "dummy" meet set up that lists all volunteer job descriptions if you want to look beforehand and practice signing up. (Hint: Hover over the 'i' for more info about each job.) These first couple of meets fill very quickly, so do not panic if you don't get a spot. There are plenty of jobs for everyone throughout the season.
As a reminder, each family needs to fulfill six credits. Some jobs are worth one credit and some are worth two.
Practice Groups
If your swimmer is practicing with an age group that is different than their grade at school (or kids they go to school with), let us know! We tried to catch everyone -- but we always let kids practice with their classmates. They do have to swim in meets with their age group.
Thanks everyone!
